By accessing and using AuthorKit plugins and services ("Services"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, please do not use our Services.

2. Description of Service

AuthorKit provides WordPress plugins designed for self-publishing authors, including but not limited to book management, review systems, contest management, and related functionality. We offer both free and premium versions of our plugins.

3. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms:

• Free Plugins: Distributed under the GNU General Public License v2.0 or later. You may use, modify, and distribute the free plugins in accordance with the GPL license.
• Premium Plugins: Licensed on a per-site basis. Each license key is valid for one WordPress installation. You may not share, distribute, or resell premium plugins or license keys.
• Premium licenses include 1 year of updates and support from the date of purchase.
• After the license period expires, the plugin will continue to work but will not receive updates or support unless renewed.

4. User Accounts

When you create an account with us, you must provide accurate, complete, and current information. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Services for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble premium plugins (beyond what GPL allows for free plugins)
• Remove or modify any proprietary notices or labels
• Share premium license keys with unauthorized parties
• Use the Services to transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts

6. Payment Terms

Premium plugin purchases are processed through Lemon Squeezy, our authorized payment processor. By making a purchase, you agree to their terms of service. All prices are in USD unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, but changes will not affect existing subscriptions during their current billing period.

8. Updates and Support

Premium license holders are entitled to plugin updates and email support for one year from the date of purchase. Updates may include bug fixes, security patches, new features, and compatibility improvements. We strive to provide timely support but do not guarantee specific response times.

9. Intellectual Property

The AuthorKit brand, logo, website design, and premium plugin code (beyond GPL components) are owned by AuthorKit and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Free plugins are licensed under GPL v2.0 or later.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AUTHORKIT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES.

Your use of the Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect and use personal information as described in our Privacy Policy to provide and improve our Services.

13. Termination
